The Happiest Day ever

The little grey bunny dashed back into her friend Moon's burrow. She excitedly pawed the door waiting.

Moon padded out of her burrow. "Hi Blue!" she said happily.

Blue's tail wavered with excitement. "Look!" She blurted. "The creek's unfrozen!! So now the cats and predators will eat the fish, not us... And, we can have a drink!"

"Let's go!" Moon smiled and jumped for joy!

"Ok!" Blue's ears flopped into the "non alert" position. She bounded up the sandy passage.

Moon bounded out at Blue's side.

A small gray vole was at the lake,drinking. He didn't notice the two bunnies yet

Moon took a drink. "Ahhh nice, fresh water!"

The vole looked up at Moon,a bit scared. "Are you gonna eat me?!" He asked,eyes wide in fear

"No, I wouldn't eat you! Besides, bunnies don't eat meat!" Moon said happily. "We're...what's it called? Veg-it-ari-anssss.......we only eat plants and berries and stuff."

The voles eyes sparkled "Met too!" Then he smiled "I'm Jay!"

"And I'm Blue!" The Blue-grey bunny leaped in.

Jay puffed up his chest "I am going to destroy all those cats one day!" He squeaked

Blue's ears perked up. "Cats? What cats? Where? What? Who? How? When?"

Jay squeaked and hid in the grass

Blue quickly dug a shallow hole and sheltered.

Jay peeked his head out "There isn't any cats!" He said relieved

"Oh... But I thought you said cats?" She asked, perplexed,

The vole looked confused,but that changed to horror as he ran

"Don't just leave ME here!" She cried and ran after the confused vole.

"Cat!" Jay squeaked as he turned back to a black cat in back of her

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" The rabbit started the chase running with dust kicking up behind her. The vole was to fend for himself.

The vole was already a couple mouse lengths ahead of Blue. "Do you have shelter?" he cried

"The entrance to my den was blocked by the cat!" She yelled back. "So, no!"

Jay squeaked as he started to get tired.
